Overhead crane automation

No more hours lost looking for the right coil

The coil is found at once, nobody works near the load, no wrong pick-ups or drop-offs, and the warehouse holds more. We do it on the crane you already have, or supply a new machine complete with tongs for coils or packs. Operator-guided, or fully automatic with nobody in the bay. It is called Gradus, and it is our flagship product.

What we do

We automate machines and lend logistics a hand.

Gradus — overhead crane automation

On a new crane or the one you have, operator-guided or automatic. It finds coils and keeps the inventory, runs unmanned missions inside a fenced area, flags risks and talks to your management system.

The product

What Gradus does, every day.

It is our system for the overhead cranes that move coils and packs. This is what it does on an ordinary shift.

  • Nominal
  • Medium risk
  • High risk
  • Being placed

A stack is three courses high at most. Here the crane is lowering a coil into the gap in the third course — filling it is what makes the thrust from above symmetrical. The other two coils have already been classified by the force calculation.

  • Location taken
  • Location proposed

The same bay seen from above. For an incoming coil the system names the location, weighing how full the floor is against the processing already scheduled.

Safety

The operator drives from a distance, or the bay works fenced with nobody inside: if anyone enters during a mission, the machine stops. Before setting a coil down, it checks nine risks on the stack.

Coil search

Pick the coil from the management system or scan the lot barcode, and the crane knows where to go. Stocktaking, which used to stop the warehouse, is almost a thing of the past.

Space

It tells you where an incoming coil should go and when it is worth reorganising the space. Overnight it brings the coils needed the next day to the surface.

Traceability

Every movement has a name: the operator logs in on the pendant with their own barcode, and from then on what they do is recorded.

All about Gradus

Why Hardening

We work on plants that are already producing.

On the crane you have, or on a new machine

Gradus fits the cranes already in your bay. If a new machine is needed, with our partners we deliver it complete with coil tongs, guided or automatic.

It talks to your management system

It works on your lots and your locations, so there is no second archive to keep aligned.

Beyond steel too

It was born for coils and sheet packs. The same logic adapts to other materials with similar handling problems.
